The first time I saw Ovidiu at the dog park he was throw­ing balls to a group of dogs. What caught my atten­tion was not just the way he inter­acted with the dogs but the way the dogs inter­acted with HIM. You could tell they not only respected him but had a great affec­tion for him.When I began hav­ing some play and ball aggres­sion issues with my own dog, a friend rec­om­mended Ovi and I did not hes­i­tate to go to to him for help. As a Vet­eri­nary tech­ni­cian I have seen lots of peo­ple claim to be dog train­ers but all it took was observ­ing him in the park with those dogs and I knew he could help me. Not only did he help me with the issues I was most con­cerned about but he taught me every day rules/commands that would help me be in bet­ter con­trol of my dog. I finally had a dog that lis­tened, heeled and was bet­ter at social­iz­ing at the park.When the time came that I needed to incor­po­rate a dog walker into our lives I was so happy it would be Ovi or one of his staff. My dog was soon one of those dogs that adored Ovi and I knew she was always in capa­ble hands at the park and on walks. I also knew she would be engaged in play and not just lying around while the walker sat on a bench near by. Her other walker is Anton and he is won­der­ful as well. As with Ovi, I trusted him 100% for what­ever sit­u­a­tion might arise and my dog adores him too. If either one of them shows up at the park when she is with me, she is up and run­ning to greet them!I also have peace of mind when my dog has needed to board overnight with Ovi or Anton. I know she is get­ting more qual­ity walks and play than she gets with me most days. I am able to enjoy my vaca­tion know­ing she is enjoy­ing hers!There are tons of dog walk­ers and “train­ers” in NYC but very few I would trust with my dog. I feel so for­tu­nate to have met Ovi and his staff and I can’t praise them enough. If you are look­ing for a ser­vice like the one they pro­vide then look no fur­ther, you have found the best!

I’ve been send­ing my dog Wil­low to board with Ovi for almost 3 years now (last year she stayed with him for 7.5 weeks all up) based on sev­eral rec­om­men­da­tions from friends that they would trust no one else in the City with their dog — and I agree! Ovi is excep­tion­ally pro­fes­sional, polite and knowl­edge­able.
He rec­om­mended a healthy diet for Wil­low and she is thriv­ing. When she stays with him, he takes her out with him where ever he goes and I know she is get­ting the love and atten­tion that she would get at home. He once sent us gor­geous pho­tos of her play­ing in the park with other dogs and it brought a tear to our eye to see how happy she was. When we come home from our vaca­tion she is always fit­ter, health­ier and hap­pier than when we left her.
As Ovi is a trainer also, we were astounded that Wil­low also came home with new man­ners, like learn­ing to ‘heel’. How­ever, the real proof is when you see the dogs in the dog run that Ovi walks and boards. They run over to him as soon as they see him and can’t stop jump­ing and whin­ing with delight which makes us own­ers kind of sad that we don’t get that love from our dogs!!!

I met Ovidiu years ago at the dog run on Wash­ing­ton Square Park. He took great inter­est in my Ger­man Shep­herd dog who was show­ing some aggres­sion toward other dogs. Ovidiu was com­ing to the dog run with all sorts of dogs (never with the large group like some other dog walk­ers) and our dogs played and had great fun together. He was help­ing me cor­rect Quindy when she mis­be­haved. I watched him work with his clients’ dogs and I could see that he loved every sin­gle one of them. He had a great report with all the dogs, and paid atten­tion to them. He also took some gor­geous pho­tographs of Teddy (the boxer) and Quindy. You can hire him to take fan­tas­tic pho­tographs of your dog in action. I am very sorry that I moved away from that neigh­bor­hood.If you need a reli­able and dog lov­ing dog care taker, Ovidiu is your man. I wish him all the best!

Behind his back, I call Ovi, ” the other dog whis­perer.” He has amaz­ing skill, knowl­edge and tal­ent when it comes to dogs. He under­stands them as if he is part of the pack. My father was a vet­eri­nar­ian and I know there are some humans who have that spe­cial some­thing with ani­mals. Ovi has that.
In my opin­ion, Ovi and his team ( I think my dog Merv’s secret love of Anton could be a movie) pro­vide the great­est train­ing and dog walking/boarding ser­vice any dog lover could wish for, and every dog desires. Ovi’s stan­dards outdo my high­est expec­ta­tions. Ovi and his team have cared for Merv, the Jack Rus­sell, for 4 years now and have added joy, love and train­ing to his life. When I first adopted Merv he was 8 and didn’t know how to sit, come, or stay. He also had very bad habits and even though I con­sider myself great with ani­mals and have trained all my other dogs, I was hav­ing a very dif­fi­cult time with the very stub­born Jack Rus­sell. Ovi trained Merv, then Ovi trained me. Merv is so much hap­pier now — and con­fi­dent. He can heel, sit, come, stay, lay­down and roll over. Okay, he only rolls over for Ovi, but still. I don’t know what I would do with­out Ovi and NYC Dog­gies. I’m out of town right now, and Merv is at Anton’s — I just got my 7th text mes­sage from Anton giv­ing me the update — cur­rently Merv is relax­ing in the back yard and being super affec­tion­ate these days. (I’m telling you, it’s a movie.)

The three years we had Jake & Elwood, we didn’t have a dog walker, but I brought them to the run every day, and got to know all of the dog walk­ers, and observe them with the dogs. So when the baby came, and we needed a dog walk­ing ser­vice, there was no ques­tion who we’d hire: Ovi and his team are the best, bar none. There is sim­ply no one else we’d trust with our dogs.
