Almond Butter Snack Balls

by Jennifer Wheeler

These yummy treats will nourish your pup’s skin from the inside out. They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and important fatty acids. This is a very forgiving treat. Add what you like, take out what you dislike.  And the best part? Humans can enjoy them too!

Snack-ball ingredients on a table

List of ingredients

Almond Butter – contains the entire vitamin E family, tocopherols and tocotrienols – all important for healthy skin and hair. Almonds are also a great source of B vitamins and loads of minerals.

Chia Seeds – are a rich source of B vitamins, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, protein, and zinc. They are packed with antioxidants too! They contain lots of alphalinolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based form of Omega-3s, which nourish skin from the inside out and combat skin inflammation.

Coconut Flakes – eating raw coconut can reduce inflammatory skin conditions.

Dried Cranberries – packed with vitamins and antioxidants, cranberries have been shown to mitigate allergic reactions on dogs’ skin.

Colloidal Oatmeal – is a fancy name for oats that have been put through the blender and made into a powder. In this treat, the powder helps give the snacks the right consistency. But make some extra, because we are going to use colloidal oats for a special doggy spa treatment: a skin-nourishing, moisturizing oat bath.

Honey – optional, for moisture and sweetness.
